I still can't believe it but here I am, Sunday February the 5th, and I'm still reeling in the giddiness that we did this! We 'dominated' this
Bake- Off event! The decision of what to bake for it (we couldn't decide so we chose 3) and how to get it to Toronto was the obvious challenge, but seeing how
well we did, it was TOTALLY worth it!!!!

Thank you to everyone who supported us and voted for us! Thank you to the
TVA staff and volunteers who helped us plate 300 pieces in one hour's time! Wow! we did it!
Three weeks of planning, implementing ideas and then creating the final products.... Three entries and we ended up with 3 wins!!!

The building of
Kindfood and the
GFV Baking Co has been an exhilarating experience for me and as time goes by, I realize how much I love making people happy by giving them the opportunity to enjoy Gluten Free and Vegan treats that taste simply Awesome! I also enjoy showing people how easy it is to make different food choices; like the importance of choosing organic and how all foods should be whole and not processed. These are new ways to eat for most and ones that they will greatly benefit from
(I go into it in greater detail in some of my other posts).
None of us should feel
deprived in life due to lifestyle decisions (going vegan) nor due to food sensitivities like Celiac Disease, lactose intolerance or other food allergies to egg or soy or peanuts, etc. It's been a welcomed challenge for me to be able to help raise the bar in the food industry and contribute to the consciousness and wellness of people. There's nothing more satisfying to me than making someone smile and "baking people happy". When you are able to connect to the most intimate level to humans by providing them with delicious, organic, allergy-friendly nourishment, you make them happy from the very depths of their spiirts and it radiates on out.
I'm thrilled and honoured to have won these awards and want you all to know there's WAY MORE where that came from! Be prepared for the Vegan and Gluten-Free industry to get a little shake up. Heck, you might even see us go toe to toe with those conventional bakers out there using the over-rated white flour, butter and eggs (I actually think that would be a brilliant idea).
