Vanilla Bean Cupcake "Plain Jane"




Some people just LOVE Vanilla. They are addicted to the soft creamy vanilla flavour. We try to get them to try something new but it's always "No way, I'm hooked on these Vanilla ones". 
We make Vanilla Bean Cupcakes every day - just so everyone is happy.
All organic, Gluten Free, Egg Free, Dairy Free, Peanut Free and Soy Free.

Red Velvet

This is Erinn's favourite and I must say, mine too. The flavour of this cupcake is unlike you have ever had before. There is one cup of beet juice in every dozen cupcakes. This allows us to not have to use as much sweeteners or raw cane juice or organic sugar. Depending on the occasion, they get decorated differently.

We use Apple Cider Vinegar and special cocoa to really make the colour pop- "RED".

This Red Velvet is the real deal from the old-fashioned days when there was no such thing as artificial red food colouring. I don't know how other bakeries (to be perfectly honest) put red food colouring in their baked goods knowing that it causes cancer. And they have to put in A LOT to make it red! .....usually up to 3 TBSP per dozen cupcakes.

At GFV Baking Co. and Kindfood, we don't use artificial colours in our products. Only plant-based or flower based extracts and colours are in our bakery. If I wouldn't eat them myself, why would we use them in our ingredients for you, our customer to eat?


Our Vanilla Bean Vegan Buttercream is to die for. (So we've been told...)

Our homemade vegan caramel sauce is drizzled on our Chocolate Gluten-Free and Vegan Cupcake and then chocolate ganache finishes it off....
Pretty incredible I'd say.

Our Easter Goodies!!!

The Trailer for my new website: KellyChilds.com


I was so taken aback by this FANTASTIC trailer when I saw it for the first time. It's punchy, it gets you moving, it inspires,....it's exactly how you need to feel to cahnge. PASSION.

When I watched it, I looked at it with wonder and said, "is this really me?" It was kind of one of those moments when you pinch yourself and say,"Hey!! This is YOUR life. Look at what you've done. See how many lives you've touched. Believe it!"

I've made a promise to myself and to the people who follow me to reach out more often. I PROMISE!! I'm going to start to have more time to do what I really love to do and that's interacting with people and help them make their life as good as it can get. Kindfood and the GFV Baking Co need me less and less on a daily basis so that gives me the freedom to be my creative self.

My goal is to help people think outside their four walls. The normal box we've been put in since we were kids: What we eat, how we live, why we think the way we do about things. To really make a decision to open our minds and hearts and souls and realize that change is well within everyone's capabilities.

My thought is: CHANGE YOUR DIET. CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

We won!!! The Toronto Vegan Bake-Off!!!

I still can't believe it but here I am, Sunday February the 5th, and I'm still reeling in the giddiness that we did this! We 'dominated' this Bake- Off event! The decision of what to bake for it (we couldn't decide so we chose 3) and how to get it to Toronto was the obvious challenge, but seeing how well we did, it was TOTALLY worth it!!!! Kindfood and the GFV Baking Co. do so great!!!!
Thank you to everyone who supported us and voted for us! Thank you to the TVA staff and volunteers who helped us plate 300 pieces in one hour's time! Wow! we did it!

Three weeks of planning, implementing ideas and then creating the final products.... Three entries and we ended up with 3 wins!!!

Dulce De Leche Cupcake (Gluten Free and Vegan) - 1st place and "BEST in SHOW"!!
There were over 50 entries! Congrats to everyone who participated!

The building of Kindfood and the GFV Baking Co has been an exhilarating experience for me and as time goes by, I realize how much I love making people happy by giving them the opportunity to enjoy Gluten Free and Vegan treats that taste simply Awesome! I also enjoy showing people how easy it is to make different food choices; like the importance of choosing organic and how all foods should be whole and not processed. These are new ways to eat for most and ones that they will greatly benefit from (I go into it in greater detail in some of my other posts).
None of us should feel deprived in life due to lifestyle decisions (going vegan) nor due to food sensitivities like Celiac Disease, lactose intolerance or other food allergies to egg or soy or peanuts, etc. It's been a welcomed challenge for me to be able to help raise the bar in the food industry and contribute to the consciousness and wellness of people. There's nothing more satisfying to me than making someone smile and "baking people happy". When you are able to connect to the most intimate level to humans by providing them with delicious, organic, allergy-friendly nourishment, you make them happy from the very depths of their spiirts and it radiates on out.
I'm thrilled and honoured to have won these awards and want you all to know there's WAY MORE where that came from! Be prepared for the Vegan and Gluten-Free industry to get a little shake up. Heck, you might even see us go toe to toe with those conventional bakers out there using the over-rated white flour, butter and eggs (I actually think that would be a brilliant idea).

Black Magic LOVE Cake.....


YESSS!!!! This IS torture.....working in this environment surrounded by Vegan and Gluten Free Goodies, all day long. This particular recipe has taken the cake though. I even had some samples for breakfast!!

I created this crazy cake recipe that is deep and dark and rich with Black Cocoa and a touch of balsamic vinegar and frosted with Pink Champagne Frosting....Our Black Magic Love Cake will absolutely blow your mind (and the person you are trying to impress on Valentine's)

I promised I'd share the pictures of this decadent cake so here it goes (this cake serves 1 to 6):

We carved out the centre...
And filled it with a VEGAN Chocolate Caramel Sauce
And then topped it back up again like nothing ever happened.

 We finished it with a pale pink champagne frosting...whipped so light.

In our Round version as well....
I cut the cake into 6 pieces and it was more than enough for me.

AAHHHHHH!!!

It doesn't get any better than this.... dark and delicious chocolate
